Why Is It Always These Two Spots?
Sitting for long periods, looking down at your phone, staying in the same position — these are the "standard package" of modern life, and your neck and shoulders bear the brunt. Muscles stay tense for too long, and gradually they "remember" that tension. You don't even feel it anymore — until you try to turn your neck and realize: oh, it's really tight.
What Actually Helps?
I've tried a few things. Here's what I found actually works:
Heat therapy. Not high-tech, but it works. A herbal heat wrap warmed up and placed on your shoulders — the weight hugs your neck and shoulder curves, and the gentle herbal scent adds to the relaxation. Nothing else quite gives you that wrapped-in-warmth feeling. Especially great on cold days or before bed.
Spot pressure.Sometimes you need a point-specific release — like that spot on the inside of your shoulder blade that you can never quite reach, or the tight band on the side of your neck. A wooden neck massager lets you control the pressure and position, so you can hit exactly where it hurts.
Lying down for traction.Looking down for hours changes the natural curve of your cervical spine. A cervical pillow gently brings it back to where it's supposed to be. Just lie down for 10–15 minutes a day — that's all. No effort needed.
Large-area scraping. If your whole back feels tight, you need broader coverage. A large body gua sha board works over your shoulders, back, and legs — follow the muscle direction, and you'll release deeper layers of tension.
An Important Note
These tools are effective — but only ifyou go gently. Don't think "more pressure equals better," especially around your neck and shoulders. Too much force can actually cause injury.
If you're pregnant, have severe osteoporosis, or other health concerns, check with your doctor before using them.
BOLAN Relax Care offers a range of neck and back relief tools — from herbal heat wraps to wooden neck massagers, cervical pillows to large body gua sha boards. Which one you choose depends on whether you need warm comfort, precise pressure, or simple relaxation lying down.
Tension doesn't build up in a day, and releasing it takes time. Take it slow. Your body will tell you what it needs.
